Abstract

This article examines effective methods for preparing primary school students for successful learning in higher grades through mathematics education. Particular attention is given to competency-based approaches, development of logical thinking, problem-based learning, and the use of integrative teaching methods. The study is grounded in international educational frameworks such as PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) and incorporates insights from зарубеж (foreign) pedagogical practices. It highlights the importance of developing mathematical literacy at the primary level as a foundation for advanced learning. Furthermore, the article emphasizes fostering students’ independent thinking, analytical skills, and ability to apply knowledge in real-life situations as key factors in ensuring continuity in education.
